FIRST Lego League

Members of The Robotics Club at Worthingway Middle School are exposed to and learn how to build and program robots and/or devices using various robotic platforms such as LEGO NXT/EV3 and VEX to complete specific tasks, challenges, and/or competitions.  The goal is to possibly compete in one or more First Lego League (FLL) competition(s), one or more VEX IQ challenge competition(s), the annual Worthington Robotics Cup at Science Day and at the National Robotics Challenge (NRC) in Marion, Ohio, in each spring. If time and money allows we do explore and incorporate topics/languages/items such as; Raspberry Pi’s, Arduino based items, and MakeyMakey’s.   We typically take a field trip every year to Worthington Kilbourne High School to check out The Worbots, where the high school robotics team is housed. The Worbots teams consists of members of all Worthington’s high schools at and we are always looking for other trips to take if money and time allow. We generally meet once or twice a week after school, most likely on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays beginning about the 4th

week of school in room 30 (technology and engineering lab) at Worthingway Middle School from 3:50-5:00 or 5:30. Any questions please contact Jon Baird
