The WorBots first entered FRC in 2012 with less than one dozen members and limited resources. Tom Karns, a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) teacher at Worthington Kilbourne High School, believed the program would give students an environment in which they would be able to realistically apply technical skills learned in class. The team’s first ever competition was the Buckeye Regional in Cleveland, Ohio, where we ended ranked in spot 35 out of 50 teams. In the years since, the team has tripled in size and has been able to advance far in Regional Events. In 2018 Power Up, the team was able to qualify for the first time for the Championship Event in Detroit, Michigan. The WorBots’ abilities continue to improve, and the team’s future seems more promising than ever.
